Mule ESB: A Case Study
The buzzword du jour in services oriented architectures is ESB. Enterprise service buses are the preferred tools for integrating systems with theretogeneous data interchange interfaces and based on a wide array of technologies, from COBOL to CORBA to JEE.
Enterprise service buses are an effective tool in reducing the software deployment costs and efforts in modern enterprise by shifting the effort from longer-term, costly software development exercises, to shorter-term product integration efforts that take the best elements of in-house, open-source, and commercial software offers to the modern enterprise.
The Server Side published my introduction and case study of Mule the ESB in January 2007 and it explores the issues faced by enterprise integrators when doing SOA.
MuleCon 2007: Conference Notes
The Mule Source team invited me to share my experiences with the Mule development and user community during their first Mule Conference here in San Francisco. This short slide show provides a glimpse at two different applications of Mule, one for a high-volume eCommerce site, the other for mid-size enterprise that specializes in content downloads. Of course, there is plenty of Q&A.
